These images document Place de la République, a depiction of the Paris public square by artist Edouard Cortès. Views include a straight photograph under neutral light, plus two infrared images, and a series from the processed Reflectance Transformation Imaging (RTI) capture. While the infrared captures favor certain light wave bands over others, the RTI combines image data from a series of 50 captures to reveal surface texture and detail. This technique is used by conservators and stakeholders to study technique, detail, and condition.
