We wanted a book that would build upon earlier works of photography on Tahoe and remain relevant for years to come.<\/p>\n<p>Lake Tahoe is revealed through images of both the majestic landscape and our interactions with the natural world. With an introduction by preeminent Tahoe research scientist <a title=\"Dr. Charles Goldman\" href=\"http:\/\/www.des.ucdavis.edu\/faculty\/goldman.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Dr. Charles Goldman<\/a>, poetry by former US Poet Laureate and 2008 Pulitzer Prize winner <a title=\"Poet Robert Hass\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Robert_Hass\" target=\"_blank\">Robert Hass<\/a>, and historical content by literary icon <a title=\"Mark Twain Roughing It Tahoe\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Roughing_It\" target=\"_blank\">Mark Twain<\/a> and 19th Century photographer <a title=\"Carleton Watkins photographer tahoe\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Carleton_Watkins\" target=\"_blank\">Carleton Watkins<\/a>, this important work not only expresses the beauty of Lake Tahoe but examines it as a microcosm of the environmental challenges confronting our time.  Supporters include the <a title=\"tahoe environmental research center\" href=\"http:\/\/terc.ucdavis.edu\" target=\"_blank\">Tahoe Environmental Research Center<\/a>, the <a title=\"Oakland Museum of California\" href=\"http:\/\/www.museumca.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Oakland Museum<\/a>, the <a title=\"Phoebe Hearst Museum of Anthropology\" href=\"http:\/\/hearstmuseum.berkeley.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\">Phoebe Hearst Museum<\/a>, <a title=\"Adobe Systems\" href=\"http:\/\/www.adobe.com\" target=\"_blank\">Adobe<\/a>, and <a title=\"Hasselblad\" href=\"http:\/\/www.Hasselblad.com\" target=\"_blank\">Hasselblad<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Since publication, I have found that this multifaceted approach is bridging disparate audiences and broadening the conversation &#8211;
